WHAT WE OFFER
As the demand for long form premium documentary clips and content has grown in the last few years, so has the need for fast access and properly catalogued archive material.
For the modern documentary maker, finding the right footage in vast and randomly compiled archives can be expensive, time consuming and unproductive. The founders of Racing Past media have all experienced this frustration.
Steve Rider, Richard Wiseman, Alex Rodger and Malcolm Clinton have won awards for their sports documentaries but the research was a battle.
Our new company was set up to provide a fast track through the research and delivery process, particularly in terms of motor sport content. Having proved the concept with its International Rallying archive, the main focus for RPM was then to compile the best possible collection of broadcast and film content reflecting the dramatic, formative years of the Formula One World Championship.
We are delighted that the foundations of this archive have now been laid, helped by exclusive research and delivery contracts with BRM, Classic Team Lotus, The Tate Collection and Formula One Films. Further partnerships have been formed with ITV, the BBC, BP, The European Broadcast Union and many more.
This unique and invaluable body of material is growing all the time and can be accessed in full after free registration to the RPM website.
We are happy to provide production support as well as advice and guidance on rights, cost and usage.
Racing Past Media handle the content on behalf of the individual archive owners who retain all forms of ownership and rights.
Not every production can afford to spend time and money sifting through impenetrable archives for just the right shot. So when you need research fast, especially in the legendary first thirty years of Formula One – come to Racing Past Media.
